Weatherization Office Manager

Position: Capstone’s Weatherization Department (WX) houses 3E Thermal, offering services, consultation, and incentives for energy efficiency improvements to individuals, families, and rental property owners in central Vermont and statewide. The Weatherization Department works to improve the economic well-being and lives of Vermonters and to preserve environmental resources.

Capstone is currently seeking an Office Manager for our Weatherization program. As a member of the WX team and guided by a commitment to social, economic, and environmental justice, the Office Manager holds overall programmatic responsibility for shepherding new and returning clients through our eligibility and intake process and ensuring a smooth transition to the Project Manager. This position will maintain, expand, and strengthen partner and client awareness and utilization, and provide comprehensive administrative and office support for the full WX Team. Additionally, the Office Manager will provide support in the following areas:

• Provide supervision, support, and mentorship for all WX Administrative staff.

• Engage in outreach, networking, social media, communications, and marketing activities to help ensure a full pipeline and steady stream of new and returning WAP and 3E Thermal clients.

• Represent WX by engaging in other outreach activities including conferences, trainings, and partner meetings, to help expand awareness of our services and increase our customer base.

• Ensuring accessibility for our clients.

• Provide administrative support, as needed, to the entire WX team.

• Help improve knowledge and utilization of emergent technological advancements to expedite our processes and improve our department’s organization and flow.

Qualifications: The WX Office Manager must have education or experience in business administration and/or human services, as well as 2 or more years’ previous work experience in program administration, preferably in energy efficiency, weatherization, or housing assistance program(s).

Additional qualifications include:

• Well-developed emotional intelligence.

• The ability to quickly learn, explain, and manage rapidly shifting and evolving complex eligibility and programmatic requirements.

• Demonstrated sensitivity to the challenges and barriers faced by low-income Vermonters.

• Experience and aptitude in outreach, sales, marketing, and partnership development.

• Knowledge and understanding of weatherization programs (preferred).

• Strong staff leadership and mentorship skills.

Compensation & Benefits: This is a full-time position, offering a competitive annual salary of $70,000 and generous paid time off, insurance, and retirement plan benefits.
