For 60 years, Capstone has earned a reputation for leadership in education on poverty issues, advocacy on behalf of low-income families, and developing innovative strategies and programs to reduce poverty in Vermont.
Current Initiatives
Our Fuel Your Neighbors campaign, presented by EastRise, is an annual 100-day initiative to raise funds for our emergency food and heating assistance programs.
An annual event to help provide emergency heating assistance to Vermonters. The 2026 event will take place from October 29-31.
Past Initiatives
The Vermont Main Street Flood Recovery Fund was dedicated to providing direct financial aid to Vermont small businesses for the purpose of rebuilding and recovering from damage and losses suffered due to the 2023-2024 flooding.
A former statewide program that ran from 2020-2023. It provided nutritious meals to Vermonters affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and offered a stabilizing source of income for Vermont restaurants, farmers, and food producers.
A former statewide program that offered financial and energy coaching that ended on December 31, 2025.
A former statewide program that assisted Vermonters to buy a high efficiency pre-owned car.
