Head Start at Capstone Community Action has multiple openings in Lamoille, Washington, and Orange counties, which provides services for families with young children and families expecting a child. We also help support you in your next steps in life, with connections to social, health, housing, food services, and much more.

Make Your Voice Heard: Proposed changes for Head Start
Did you know? The Federal government has recently proposed changes to the quality of rules that Head Start programs follow. If implemented, some of the biggest changes would reduce classroom hours to 3 per day, reduce teacher qualifications, double the caseload for Home Visitors, eliminate most case management for families, and eliminate free diapers during class time. Removing federal requirements does not remove the needs - it shifts the responsibility and costs elsewhere.

Tooth Tutor Program
Capstone Head Start is a participant of the statewide Tooth Tutor program, which works with families to assure that children have a regular dentist, are up-to-date on dental exams, and receive any needed treatment for any identified dental health issues. To learn more, visit: Tooth Tutor Program.
