Yes! We gratefully accept donations and designations via Donor Advised Funds (DAFs).

DAFs are a flexible way that donors can manage charitable giving goals. They offer immediate tax deductions for contributions, streamline giving, and are a strong component of wealth management plans. Additionally, they can be a part of your Legacy Giving, by naming organizations or successors as beneficiaries you maintain autonomy for your contributions. As always, speak with your trusted financial planner to learn the best options for your giving strategy.

How to recommend a gift to Capstone Community Action:

1. Request a grant distribution through your Donor Advised Fund sponsor.
2. Be sure to use Capstone Community Action's EIN #03-0216254
3. Indicate whether your gift is for annual support or for a specific project.
4. Designate a successor so your wishes can be maintained and there is no loss of control of your fund.

Yes! You can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA. This allows you to donate up to $111,000 directly to Capstone without paying income taxes on that amount. This option is available to individuals aged 70½ or older and can satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year.

Making a gift this way can be especially beneficial if you take the standard deduction, since you receive a tax benefit without itemizing.

To qualify, the transfer must be made directly from your IRA administrator to the nonprofit of your choice by December 31 of the tax year. Distributions made to you first and then donated do not qualify.
