Weatherization & Climate Impact Program Support Specialist

Position: Capstone’s Weatherization and Climate Impact Department (WXCI) offers services, consultation, and incentives for energy efficiency improvements to individuals, families, and rental property owners in central Vermont and statewide. WXCI’s programs, including the Weatherization Assistance Program and 3E Thermal, work to improve the economic well-being and lives of Vermonters and to preserve environmental resources.

Capstone is currently seeking a Program Support Specialist for our Weatherization and Climate Impact program. As a member of the WXCI team and guided by a commitment to social, economic, and environmental justice, the Program Support Specialist provides administrative support to the Climate Impact Programs, 3E Thermal and Weatherization Operations Teams at our Gable Place and Waterbury locations, in the following areas:

  • Customer service and client engagement.
  • Utilization of WXCI focused programs and resources available to assist low to moderate income Vermonters in accessing tools to increase the energy efficiency and affordability of their homes.
  • Improving outreach efforts, client intakes, systems and workflows to help increase accessibility.
  • Resourcing referrals.
  • Data collection efforts.

Qualifications: The WXCI Program Support Specialist must have education or experience in business administration and/or human services, as well as 2 or more years’ previous work experience in program administration, preferably in energy efficiency, weatherization, or housing assistance program(s).

Additional qualifications include:

  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the challenges and barriers faced by low-income Vermonters.
  • Experience in community outreach.
  • Knowledge and understanding of weatherization programs (preferred).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of excel, word processing and database operations.

Compensation & Benefits: This is a full-time position, offering a competitive hourly wage of $16.81 - $21.93 and generous paid time off, insurance, and retirement plan benefits.
