MileageSmart Operations Coordinator

Position: MileageSmart, an innovative program of the Weatherization and Climate Impact department, offers incentives to assist income-eligible Vermonters in purchasing used, energy efficient vehicles from Vermont auto dealers.

To maximize the reach of these impactful incentives, the program is growing to include an Operations Coordinator who will provide limited-term support to its customer service and administrative functions. Working with the MileageSmart Program Manager, the Operations Coordinator will outreach and engage clients, maintain systems and information, review and process program applications, and work with auto dealers to facilitate purchases.

Qualifications: This position requires a combination of relevant education and work experience that would provide the skills and knowledge to be successful performing the work of the Operations Coordinator. Customer service experience and experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe will be especially useful in this role.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Customer service orientation.
  • Ability to follow protocols and policies, and to understand and apply rules to work processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and respectfully with diverse populations.
  • Ability to navigate complex issues and communications related to consumer financing, and to explain processes and provide information in clear and understandable terms.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Understanding of and positive regard for people with low incomes and accessing income-based services, and motivation to work in support of Capstone’s mission.

Compensation & Benefits: This is a full-time, temporary position with a 40-hour/week schedule and an expected duration of 6-7 months. It offers a competitive hourly rate of pay at $26.50/hour and paid time off, health insurance, and retirement plan benefits.
