Support our Small Businesses!

May 4-8 is National Small Business Week!

National Small Business Week is May 4 -11

Small business owners power our economy….and our communities.  When I think about what I purchase from small business owners each week throughout the year, I’m amazed at the depth and breadth of their products and expertise.  In my opinion, every day is a day to celebrate our small business owners!

May 2 is Vermont Green Up day and that is the day I begin thinking about home improvement projects at my house.  Thank goodness for the local hardware store.  When the project is beyond my scope of skills, I am grateful to the electrician, plumber, landscaper and excavator small business owners that I can call up to hire.

This is the week to thank the entrepreneurs that offer goods and services to us every day.  They sell us food, clothing, and cleaning products.  They fix our cars, prepare our taxes, and take care of our children.  The list goes on.  Please take a moment this week to tell a small business owner that you appreciate them!

If you would like to start your own business, please call the Micro Business Development Program at Capstone Community Action to set up a time to meet with Laura Sudhoff 477-5176 or Margaret Ferguson 477-5214.  We offer one-to-one business counseling as well as business development workshops.
