Support Community Kitchen Academy!
Help us raise $6,000 to fund a student in the next session of Community Kitchen Academy that begins July 11th. Your gift will help enroll an individual who is seeking to change their destiny, rise out of poverty and realize their potential.
CKA is an innovative culinary training program that trains at-risk individuals for a career in the food service industry. In partnership with the Vermont Foodbank, students use food that would be wasted and turn it into wholesome meals served through Capstone’s Food Shelf, the second largest in Vermont.
Each 13-week session runs 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. Coursework integrates hands-on learning, book and lecture instruction, guest speakers and onsite visits to restaurants, farms, etc. The program can fulfill 9 hours of college credits for those interested in further education.
